Term of Office - Ongoing

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Old Park Primary School. We have developed a hard-working and dedicated team of children, staff, parents/carers and Governors. Our children always try their best and the staff go the extra mile for any child in our care. It is a fantastic place to work.

Mrs Jennifer Ellis (Chair of Governors)

Chair of Governors
Parent Governor

Area of Responsibility - Health and Safety and Pupil Voice

Appointed - 10th July 2025

Term of Office - 4 Years

Since being elected as Parent Governor in 2017 I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in School Life.

Seeing the students strive academically and their enthusiasm and pride in their achievements for example in Sport, Art and Music is delightful, one of the highlights being the learning walks we complete with our Local Authority Education Advisor, who too sees the enthusiasm of not only our students, but staff too.

Attending various training courses I have developed my skills and knowledge to enable me to deliver the best support I can in my governing role whilst also enhancing my understanding of the running of the school as a whole.

I have brought my professional knowledge and experience to develop an on-going relationship with Age UK and accessing new experiences for students with the older generation with a particular focus on students becoming 'Dementia Friends'

The students are a credit to the school and the hard work of the staff and senior leadership team is reflected in them. Knowing the challenges faced by tight budgets and strict educational guidelines I feel this is even more prevalent as it proves to me that the school truly are focusing on bringing out the best in individuals and offering them the best possible start to their education.

The success of the school is vital for the area, the continual improvement of the school is vital for current and future students. I am proud to say I am part of Old Park Primary School, reaching for success.

Mrs Sally Lill (Vice Chair of Governors)

Vice Chair of Governors

Area of Responsibility - Safeguarding, Prevent and Headteacher Performance Management

Appointed - 10th July 2025

Term of Office - 4 Years

Sally was appointed Vice Chair of Governors in September 2024.

I love being Vice Chair of Old Park Governing Board. The children are enthusiastic and keen to learn. The members of staff are skilled and caring. The senior leaders are committed to providing the best education for everyone. I see this in action every time I visit school.

I began my career in education nearly 40 years ago and have been a primary class teacher in Telford and Wrekin and a head teacher and primary adviser in Shropshire. When I retired, I decided to become a governor and I'm very glad I did!

This professional experience enables me to contribute effectively to strategic decision-making and to support the school in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. Tanya Ledger

Parent Governor

Areas of Responsibility – Inclusion (SEND)

Appointed - 28th November 2025

Term of Office - 4 Years

Tanya was appointed Parent Governor November 2025

I became a parent governor so that I could be the parents' voice on the school board, championing thoughtful change and fresh perspectives.

I previously worked with children who have behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties (BESD). In my previous job, I used to work with multiple safeguarding agencies, which I feel has given me the confidence, knowledge and understanding to fulfil this role and to ensure the school is taking a child-centred response to all the decisions.

I will continue to support the school's vision, aims, and objectives and always be available to listen to the parents views.

Mrs Erica Fynn

Staff Governor

Areas of Responsibility - Class Teacher and Pupil Voice

Appointed 16th September 2025

Term of Office - 4 Years

I am a year 3 teacher and have just begun my second time of being a Staff Governor at Old Park Primary.

I live in Wellington with my husband Conrad, our daughters and a collection of animals, including two dogs, three cats, two tortoises, two rabbits, a tail less gecko (she can't regrow it) oh and two bonkers ducks! I have had the pleasure of working at Old Park since 2009.

I am delighted to be a staff governor because I am so proud of our school and the community that we have here and I wish to be a part of the decision making team and continue to see it flourish.

Mr Stuart Clarke

I have been lucky to work as a Senior Leader at Old Park Primary School since it opened in 2007. In my role as Deputy I enjoy working with staff, parents/carers and other professionals to support the young people in our school to meet their full potential. It is hugely satisfying to see how young people flourish at Old Park in our care. Coming to work every day is a privilege - our school is a truly special place. I would not want to work anywhere else.
