Friendships Relationships

“Be the change you want to see in the world” (Mahatma Gandhi)

“Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” (Nelson Mandela)

“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”   (Franklin D. Roosevelt)

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”  (Oscar Wilde)

Our curriculum intent:

At Old Park Primary, our aim is to enable our children to develop the skills to become empowered and prepared to cope with a variety of situations throughout their lives. We look at the whole child moving forward as they grow up and beyond to become good citizens of the future and take on active roles in the local and national economy. Supporting children's mental health and well-being and tackling issues that affect learning, such as: friendships, relationships, peer pressure, being unique and healthy lifestyles underpins our curriculum. Children leave Old Park, understanding what influences their choices and decisions; knowing what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like; where they can go both at school and in the local community for help and support; as well as learning how to say ‘NO’ and have the confidence to do so.
